Pearls have always been a timeless piece, symbolizing the noble status, wealth, and power of the elite. In television dramas, they are accessories worn by wealthy young grandmothers, seemingly out of reach for ordinary people like us. However, that’s not the case at all. With DIY, we can create pearl earrings worth hundreds or even thousands! Below are three simple yet elegant pearl earring tutorials that not only enhance one’s complexion but also exude elegance. They are incredibly easy to make, even for those who consider themselves less skilled with their hands.
1. Short Single Pearl Earrings | Materials: Two teardrop pearls (7-8mm), two T-piercing wires (25mm), a pair of ear hooks (I used clip-on earrings) | Steps: ① Take a pearl and thread it onto a T-piercing wire. ② Use round-nose pliers to bend the T-piercing wire into a ‘9’ shape. ③ Attach it to the ear clip and secure it with flat-nose pliers. Repeat the steps for the other earring.
2. Balance Pearl Strings | Materials: Ten nearly round pearls (4-5mm), six double-ended 9-shape wires (30mm), a pair of ear hooks | Steps: ① Take a 9-shape wire and thread five pearls onto it (single-ended 9-shape wires are recommended). ② Bend the other end into a ‘9’ shape (do not close the loop yet). ③ Take two double-ended 9-shape wires, make a small opening, and hook them onto the ends of the pearl-strung 9-shape wire, then secure and close the loop with flat-nose pliers. ④ Hook the other ends of the 9-shape wires onto the ear hooks and secure them with flat-nose pliers. Repeat for the other earring.
3. Long Pearl Chain Earrings | Materials: Ten nearly round pearls (4-5mm), two T-piercing wires (30mm), two short flat O-chains (1.5mm wide), two open jump rings (0.3mm), a pair of ear hooks | Steps: ① Thread five pearls onto a T-piercing wire (do both sides at once this time). ② Use round-nose pliers to bend the T-piercing wire into a ‘9’ shape. ③ Attach it to one end of the flat O-chain and secure it with flat-nose pliers. ④ Connect the other end of the flat O-chain with an open jump ring and hook it onto the ear hook, then secure it with flat-nose pliers. You’ve completed the earrings!
