Easy Paper Craft for Kids: Making a Bird

How simple can a children’s paper craft be? By tying a knot in a strip of paper, you can transform it into a cute little bird. This craft is not difficult for children, but it is fun and allows for creativity, which children love. Materials: A4 paper, ruler, pencil, scissors. Step one: Cut a 3 cm wide strip from an A4 sheet of paper. Step two: Tie a knot in the strip to form the body of the bird, with the shorter side next to the knot as the head and the longer side as the tail.

Step three: Arrange the knot so that the four points (as indicated by the arrows) can be brought close together, and ensure there are no wrinkles in the head or tail. Step four: Draw the shape of the bird’s head on the shorter side with a pencil (like a half bracket), then cut away the excess. Step five: Attach a black circular paper as the eyes, or draw a small black dot with a pen to represent the eyes.

Step six: Cut the tail into thin, even strips with scissors, ensuring the lines are straight. Step seven: Place a pencil above the tail, with your fingers below, and scrape from near the body to the tip of the tail a few times to make it curved. Done! Your bird is complete. Tip: Use different colored papers to create more birds, and you can also use colored pens to draw beautiful feathers on them.
